Hi! I am Sainath Reddappa
I combine a strong technical background with a deep passion for the arts. I hold an M.Sc. in Information Technology, but my creative journey began in the late 1990s when I discovered photography during a family trip to an ancient temple. Armed with a basic autofocus Pentax film camera, I captured some striking images that ignited my passion for photography. Inspired by the beauty and history of the monuments, I started traveling extensively, particularly to the ancient temples of South India. My focus was on photographing temple structures, interiors, exteriors, and sculptures—an experience that led me to study temple architecture and iconography in greater depth. Through my lens, I strive to capture the timeless stories and intricate details of history, offering a visual exploration of art and architecture from a unique perspective.
Over the years, my photography expanded beyond temples, but the rich heritage of these sacred places remained at the heart of my work. I published several books on temple architecture, showcasing both my photographs and research, bringing attention to these magnificent cultural landmarks.
Over time, I began exploring various cameras and brands, witnessing the transition from film to digital photography. This shift allowed me to experiment with new techniques and styles, and adapt to the ever-evolving world of photography technology.
